Remarks

The 1713/1714 editionlink notes that these memoirs (p.4:) "seem to savour much of the Romance" - which led to the listing in our the novel-bibliography. The narration is presented in 1st pers. singular and comprises the years from 1653 (when the duchess arrives as a 6 year old in France) to 1672. Background information about the French court, conflicts with Mazarin, tendency of the author to justify her own steps.
