Histories of love touching the European aristocracy (p.27-65: Merovius falling love with a mentally retarded girl - as he can't marry her he sends her to a monastary; p.29-33: discourse about love; p.133-71: Königsmarck's story; p.93-126, 317-80: Polish history till king Augustus. P.172-316: news from Constantiopolis [London], where Irene [Duchess of Marlborough] - assisted by her lover, Stauracius [Marlborough] - manipulates her sun, emperor Constantine [Queen Anne]. Gironne comments on most of the reports and gives the volume a tone of harsh judgements where the Atalantis often praised its protagonists (while at the same time defaming them with reports of their lives and actions). p.285-90: D.M. quarreling with her London colleagues.
