Bio

Born in 1950 in Istanbul, graduated from high school in 1968. B.A. in Economics at Yale University in 1972, M.A. in Economics at the University of California at Berkeley in 1974, Ph.D. in Economics at the University of California at Berkeley in 1978. Teaching positions at the University of Ankara (1978-83), the University of Pennsylvania (1980-81), at Villanova University (1983-1993), at Princeton University (1990-91 and 1993-94), at the Middle East Technical University in Ankara (1990, 1991), at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor (1997), the Ben Gurion University of the Negev (1999) and at the Bogaziçi (Bosphorus) University from 1994 to the present.
